Negative body image is bad for your health.
What you think or say to yourself doesn’t just exist in your head, but manifests in your body as tension, contractions, lack of sensation, minimal breathing, etc. All of that affects your health, your ability to pursue reasonable body-related goals, and your ability to feel at ease with yourself and others.
In this workshop, you’ll learn to identify what you’re saying to yourself and how it appears in your body. Through description, breathing, and movement, you will gain a new perspective and recover parts of yourself that were lost to negative self-talk or shame.
There will be a lot of breathing, some writing (describing what you say about your body), then we’ll observe how these comments reside in the body. We’ll do exercises to regain the lost areas: moving, breathing, and even a little laughing.
