Writing & Healing December 12th, 2021

with Elaine Konopka and Leena Graham

A two-hour deep-dive online event combining writing for wellbeing and guided meditation.

Our theme is “Giving and Receiving”: we’ll look at our patterns, desires, and intentions around these two acts — what do we want? what do we have to give? — and journey down the inner path that runs  between active and passive.

The writing is for self-exploration. You’ll be asked to respond to questions about your life, to dip into the well of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations, and allow your findings to pour out onto the page. Grammar, structure, and craft are put on the back burner while honesty, spontaneity, and intuition are free to roam. The act of putting words to your experience encourages expression and revelation: a potent tonic for your wellbeing.

The healing comes from within you. You’ll be invited to sit back, breathe deeply, and follow a body-focused, guided meditation created according to the needs and energy of the participants in the group. The basic intention is to clear away what needs clearing and encourage you to harness your inner power.

Elaine Konopka is a writer, somatic practitioner, and workshop facilitator specializing in writing for wellbeing and conscious breathing. Her YouTube channel, The Write Thing to Do, features short, guided writing exercises for fun and reflection. You can read her blog here on her website.
