I came to the Grinberg Method because of a hand-gliding accident, which led to neck and upper back pain.

Within a few sessions, the pain was entirely relieved (and never came back). It was remarkable and such a relief. I had tried several other forms of physical therapy and acupuncture before, for months, but none had helped significantly, and none had resolved the issues. The Grinberg sessions were unique in their efficiency, depth, intensity, multi-dimensional approach and empowerment. Indeed, not only did they help me heal in ways that no other therapy had, but I also very much appreciated their underlying philosophy: the idea was not to “go and see someone who would heal me,” but that it would be a “joint journeying” — of course the practitioner works directly on the body and so on and helps the healing process during the session; but perhaps a deeper and more powerful aspect of the Method is the fact that with awakened and raised awareness, one stops blocking the body in its natural healing process, and one can actively participate in it (through breathing for instance). So the healing gets triggered and enabled by the one-on-one work, and then unfolds in between sessions.

Besides the physical healing process, the sessions led to much deeper and more long-term, transformative insights. They helped me become aware of deep-seated patterns and behaviors which were not beneficial to me. And over time, the sessions have been helping me to transform them.

The sessions were at times physically painful as deep and ancient knots were being released. But it was so worth it.

I would recommend Grinberg Method sessions to anyone with chronic or non-chronic pain, but also to people engaged on a path of self-understanding, self-awareness and transformation, as I have found it to be a wonderful and helpful tool.

The sessions with Elaine Konopka in Paris were absolutely wonderful. I appreciated enormously Elaine’s professionalism, intuition, depth of focus and efficiency of work, listening capabilities (on many levels), kindness and empathy. She has a beautiful presence and attention. The sessions with her were significantly helpful, on many dimensions. Very, very highly recommended!!

I started Grinberg Method sessions because I needed to work on myself but I didn’t want to go see a psychologist. I needed to understand myself better and move forward in my life. I attained this goal thanks to constant work.

Thanks to this process, I noticed that when my body was more relaxed, I was too. It also allowed me to be more open with other people.

The sessions were very varied and very interesting because in each session I learned something new about myself.

I recommend this method because it allowed me to make tremendous progress and helped me a lot, though I don’t necessarily think it’s for everybody.

My first few sessions in the Grinberg Method brought to light several deep-seated muscular tensions. My goal in continuing the Method was to undo these tensions.

My first few sessions in the Grinberg Method brought to light several deep-seated muscular tensions. My goal in continuing the Method was to undo these tensions.

The goal was more or less achieved, depending on the body part, and the work continues to affect me today.

The Method also brought its share of unexpected benefits: I breathe more fully, I gained a lot of self-confidence, I have much more energy than before. And I have at my disposal tools to identify my needlessly tense postures, and to handle situations differently, so as not to create new tensions in my body.

Thumbs up for the Grinberg Method!

Elaine was recommended to me by a long-time friend who had consulted with her after a bad fall in paragliding and very rapidly saw great improvements.

I was suffering terrible lower back and hip pain. MRIs had revealed left hip infringement, slight left hip arthritis and a small hernia in two lower back disks. So I went to see Elaine knowing very little about the Grinberg Method let alone about Elaine. Within a few minutes she went right into the core of the pain, deep into my hip joint… a place very hard to get to, let alone identify as the eye of the maelstrom. I felt vulnerable and very hungry right after the session…

One session alone with Elaine was enough to experience great relief in my hip and lower back. Results lasted for a few days. I neglected to do gentle breathing and stretch exercise and kept traveling intensely with jet lags, short nights, stress, etc. Today I keep working with Elaine when I am in Paris and find the time in the midst of busy business trips. I also consult with another Grinberg therapist in LA. I keep seeing results with my hip/lower back pain, which is now overall much less intense. It is still not fully remedied as I keep traveling a lot and do not exercise enough to maintain the progress gained through my sessions. However the Grinberg Method was definitely curative to me and opened me up to new levels of emotional freedom and awareness.

Elaine is a great professional and very knowledgeable in her field. I regularly and wholeheartedly recommend her to my friends and clients. She brings a wealth of experience, sensitivity and discernment to this great method.

Thank you very much Elaine for your gentle yet quite astute work and skills!

I began my Grinberg sessions to prepare myself – physically and mentally – for surgery to repair the rotator cuff of my right arm. The damage to my shoulder was most likely stress related, and this seemed a good way to get to the root of things – and to help prevent further damage.

The sessions were most helpful in preparing me for the surgery. We also did one in-hospital session immediately following the surgery, which was fantastic. The impact on my body was that I was in much better shape to heal and move forward. This, of course, had a very positive impact on helping me make it through the recovery period with a positive focus. After the surgery, I did several sessions which were also very effective in helping me to address well seated issues of tension.

Elaine is an excellent practitioner and I very much appreciate the personal and professional attention I have received from her. I would – and have – recommended the Grinberg Method to others.
